JLo & Shakira : The Real Winners Of The 54th Super Bowl

Jennifer Lopez and Shakira delivered a sensational performance on Sunday evening at Hard Rock Stadiums, Florida! Both Latinas delivered a medley of our favorite throwback songs of the early 2000’s as well as some of our favorite hits of this century. With guest appearances from Bad Bunny and J Balvin, this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show was a real celebration of Latin culture!

Although the set time for the Super Bowl Halftime Show was just under 15 minutes; which raised speculation on whether both artists would be able to successfully cram their life’s work into a 6-minute set each, the flow was effortless. Groups of dancers, musicians and singers came on and off the stage swiftly in order to deliver an astounding performance.

One of the most memorable moments of the evening featured JLo’s daughter Emme who made a special appearance singing along-side Shakira and her mother for Bruce Springsteen’s song “Born In The USA”. JLo rocked a feathered cape featuring the American flag on one side and the Puerto Rican flag on the other. A real effort was made to recognize the immigration situation in the United States especially the difficult position the Dreamers have been put into; undocumented immigrants who were brought to America as children.

Shakira and JLo were able to translate their multicultural backgrounds into their performances, with Shakira flaunting her Lebanese roots as well as her Colombian heritage, and JLo showing off her sexy and dangerous “Boricua from the Bronx” side.

The two Latina artists wasted no time to prove that they are legends in their own right, and received international praise from fellow artists, as well as trending #1 on YouTube for 48 hours!

This Halftime Show was different, a clearly set the bar for the ones to follow. JLo and Shakira united an audience and spread passion, pride and uplift. It was undeniably one of our favorites!
