Women entrepreneurs are all around us. #Shepreneurs can be found within your local community as well as internationally. You don’t have to look very far to find them but unfortunately, we don’t hear about these formidable women often enough. Here’s a list of some female entrepreneurs you should know about:
- Livia Buergi
Livia is the founder of Artysco, a Swiss company focused on creating a strong connection between businesses and local artists to bring art and its benefits forward. Artysco has changed the way companies view and have access to art.
- Sarah Beydoun
Sarah’s Bag, founded by Sarah Beydoun, began as a program to help female prisoners learn a craft and a set of skills to assist with their rehabilitation upon release. Sarah’s Bag is a Lebanese fashion house and social enterprise that creates one-of-a-kind luxury hand crafted bags and accessories that empower both the women who make them and the women who wear them.
- Helena Rizzo
Rizzo is the chef and co-owner of Maní in São Paulo, Brazil. Her work earned the recognition of being named “Best Female Chef” in 2014. Her restaurant focuses on blending authentic Brazilian ingredients and flavors with a European twist.
- Beyoncé Knowles-Carter
Beyond Productions, House of Deréon, Deréon, Ivy Park, shop.beyonce.com and the Survivor Foundation are just a few examples of the companies or entities Beyoncé has founded and managed over the years. She is a trailblazer not only within her art but also within her team of talented female artists and also in the world business.
- Serena Williams
The tennis player is known for more than just her competitive abilities. She founded “Serena Ventures“, a VC focused on early-stage investments in companies led by women and people of color, and those that value “individual empowerment” and creativity. Serena Williams also has her own clothing company called “Serena“.
- Florence Ettlin & Talitha Abraham
And finally, our very own founders of KALAB! After having completed their studies at École Hôtelière de Lausanne in 2018, KALAB was founded! KALAB is an online market-place focused on facilitating the entire artist booking process and raising awareness and building a community of artists. We continue to grow everyday, and are now a team of 5!
